A leading South African payment solutions provider that facilitates secure bill payments, prepaid services, and traffic fines via online platforms and a vast retail network, is seeking a dynamic, proactive Business Development Lead to drive exponential transaction growth. This role balances high-level strategy with hands-on execution, focusing on optimizing existing accounts and onboarding high-volume strategic billers.
Responsibilities:
Growth & Acquisition: Drive transaction volumes by sourcing and onboarding new high-volume billers while scaling existing accounts.
Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and manage strategic partnerships with banks and referral networks.
Innovation: Identify and implement creative payment solutions to expand the Pay@ service offering.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams; partner with Marketing to boost brand presence.
Operational Excellence: Oversee smooth service delivery for all biller activities and provide detailed reporting on sales performance and forecasts.
Education: Relevant tertiary qualification.
Experience: 5–8 years of experience in the payments or financial industry, featuring referenceable enterprise-level sales and CRM success.
Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in the payments ecosystem, including retail, digital, banking, card schemes, EFT, and settlement/acquiring.
Logistics: Valid driver’s license and own vehicle; ability to travel frequently.
Language: Fluency in business English (additional languages are a beneficial bonus).
