Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Electronics Test & Repair Manager to lead a high-performance team within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in electronics testing, diagnostics, and repair, who can take ownership of the full FCT (Functional Circuit Testing) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) processes across various product lines including DStv/ETV decoders, TVs, tracking devices, solar products, and computing hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of ±20 technicians handling electronics repair and system test failures.
- Oversee and optimise FCT and FAT processes to ensure consistent product quality and reliability.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for test and production failures.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with ISO and IPC standards.
- Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to provide actionable feedback on product design and manufacturability.
- Track key performance metrics such as test yields, failure rates, and repair throughput.
- Ensure compliance with ESD, ISO, and IPC quality systems.
- Mentor, train, and grow technical talent within the team.
- Lead the improvement of diagnostic platforms, test systems, and repair reporting tools.
- Support CAPEX planning for new test and repair equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (preferably with hardware specialization).
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in electronics testing and repair within a manufacturing environment.
- Deep expertise in board-level troubleshooting, FCT, FAT, and repair methodologies.
- Proficient in PC-based diagnostic tools, LabVIEW, or similar test software.
- Strong understanding of ISO quality systems, IPC standards, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
