Role Overview
The Junior Technical Manager supports the Technical Manager in overseeing daily technical operations, coordinating technicians, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This role combines hands-on technical support with junior-level leadership responsibilities.
The position focuses on improving technician productivity, maintaining service standards, supporting project execution, and assisting in growing the technical division into an efficient and profitable unit.
Key Responsibilities
Team & Technician Support
- Assist in managing field technicians and installers
- Allocate jobs and coordinate daily schedules
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and job completion rates
- Provide on-site coaching and basic performance feedback
- Assist with onboarding and training of new technicians
- Ensure adherence to operational processes and service standards
Technical Oversight
- Support troubleshooting of escalated technical issues (CCTV, networking, VoIP, IT support)
- Review completed installations and service jobs for quality control
- Assist with site inspections and complex installations where required
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of company tools, vehicles, and equipment
Job & Project Coordination
- Assist in managing small-to-medium technical projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
- Liaise with sales and administrative teams regarding technical requirements
Customer Service
- Handle client queries or complaints escalated from technicians
- Ensure professional conduct on client sites
- Contribute to improving overall customer satisfaction and service standards
Reporting & Administration
- Assist with KPI tracking for technicians
- Compile reports on job status, call-outs, and productivity
- Maintain accurate records within ZOHO CRM
- Support stock control and technical inventory management
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in IT, Networking, or a related technical field
Experience
- 2–4 years hands-on technical experience (IT support, CCTV, networking, or similar)
- Previous exposure to senior technician or team leadership responsibilities advantageous
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and/or CCTV systems
- Basic networking knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting ability (hardware and software)
