Job Description

A compnay that provides cloud-based, mobile-first field sales automation and merchandising software tailored for the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector in Africa is seeking a Group IT Risk & Technical Lead who will provide strategic technical leadership. 

Responsibilities:
  • Visibility: Maintain a consolidated view of Group IT risks and remediation progress; provide structured reporting to the CIO.

  • Standards: Define and maintain Group-wide infrastructure, security roadmaps, and minimum technical standards.

  • Assessments: Conduct regular maturity audits and provide technical due diligence for new investments or business initiatives.

  • Controls: Oversee security baselines, identity and access management (IAM), and vulnerability assessments.

  • Resilience: Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery (DR) standards are implemented and tested.

  • Audit & Response: Coordinate IT audit processes and provide oversight/planning for major incident responses.

  • Guidance: Review network designs and support operating companies with complex architectural decisions.

  • Optimization: Promote standardization to reduce cost/risk and provide input on cloud/hybrid strategies.

  • Availability: Ensure all designs adhere to high-availability and business continuity principles.

  • Compliance: Monitor licensing agreements (Microsoft, SAP, etc.) and ensure compliance.

  • Efficiency: Identify cost-optimization opportunities and support Enterprise Agreement (EA) renewals.

  • Vendor Governance: Evaluate key vendors and reduce reliance on external consultants.

  • Mentorship: Act as a technical escalation point and share best practices across the Group.

  • Project Input: Provide architectural oversight for major IT projects.

  • Site Visits: Travel to operating companies as required for assessments and support.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 7+ years in technical roles (Infrastructure, Security, or Architecture), ideally within multi-site or group environments.

  • Leadership: Proven track record in defining standards and improving technical governance.

  • Ecosystems: Expert knowledge of the Microsoft stack (M365, Azure, AD, Security).

  • Networking: Strong fundamentals in LAN/WAN, Firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Infrastructure: Deep understanding of virtualization, server environments, and DR design.

  • Frameworks: Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks and complex licensing models.]
