Job Description
A diversified South African financial services group that provides financial advice, wealth management, investment solutions, and risk management services to individuals and businesses, is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) who will be responsible for driving operational efficiency by analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Management: Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather, document (using use cases, user stories, etc.), and analyze stakeholder requirements for completeness and feasibility.
Process Improvement: Map and analyze current business processes, develop process models and flowcharts, and recommend/implement improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, use modeling techniques to support decisions, and create dashboards/reports for communicating key performance indicators (KPIs).
Stakeholder & Solution Management: Facilitate communication between business and technical teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and collaborate on defining, documenting, and testing solutions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Project Support: Contribute to project planning, track progress, manage risks, and help ensure timely and on-budget project delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology or a related field) OR one of the following certifications:
National Certificate: Business Analysis Support Practice
Certificate Programme in Business Analysis
National Certificate: Business Analysis
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role.
5+ years of experience in analytics and systems development.
High proficiency with data management.
Essential: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and proven analytical abilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Unified Modelling Language (UML), Business Acumen, Data Analysis, and Process Modelling.
Knowledge of: Relevant regulatory requirements, software/systems, research methodology, and decision-making processes.
Advantageous: Proficiency in business analysis tools and software.
